Hidden in the heart of Wicklow, alone in a large south-facing meadow on a 70-acre property, lies Tigín. The cabin is entirely off-grid and solar-powered, but that doesn't mean compromising on comfort. An air conditioning system keeps the cabin at the perfect temperature year-round, even on hot summer days. Inside, the tiny house is an open-plan space with a mezzanine sleeping level, complete with kingsize bed and reached by ladder stairs. Downstairs, a daybed sits beneath the huge window, alongside a foldaway dining table and chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge with an ice box, gas stove and large sink, and there's a minibar curated by Lennox Street Grocer so you can settle in with something delicious on arrival. The space is furnished with ceramics and textiles crafted by Irish makers wherever possible. There's a hot shower, a Scandinavian-style dry toilet, and shelves and a rail for your belongings. Outside, a decked area holds a copper bath, a Weltevree outdoor oven, and a fire pit with a cooking grill, benches, and a picnic table. A short walk away, a rustic wood-fired sauna is yours to use.

Tigin - perfect for mountain views and 70 acres of land to roam
Who is Tigin for?
Tigín is for those who want to truly get away and only have to travel an hour from Dublin to do it. This is the most isolated cabin you'll find: completely alone in the middle of a 70-acre property in Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland, with not another building in sight. It looks south over native woodland to the Wicklow Mountains beyond, and the land around you is alive with wildlife. If you've ever dreamed of soaking in an outdoor bath with mountain views, you've found your place. The property is home to a lovingly restored traditional farmhouse and a series of ecological projects, including new native woodlands and a syntropic forest garden in the making. It is hosted by Tim and his family, who will be happy to share the story of the land and its restoration.
Things to note: reaching the cabin means a 300m walk through the meadow, so pack outdoor shoes for the weather. The kingsize bed sits on a mezzanine reached by a ladder, so you'll need to be comfortable with the climb.

Absolutely spectacular stay. Everything from start to finish was above our expectations. The atmosphere, location, private setting and amenities brought this home to the next level. We had a fantastic time staying here! The cabin was incredibly well-equipped and had all the comforts we could ask for. The outdoor wood-fired oven was a real highlight and made the experience even more memorable. Everything was easy to find thanks to the clear directions, and the thoughtful little details throughout the space really stood out. We'd happily return again! We had a fantastic time staying here! Stayed at the Tigín in Wicklow for a gorgeous sunny weekend, and am already excited about going back in future. Switching off from my phone was incredible and both myself and my boyfriend really appreciated the pause. Plenty of hikes nearby and the landowners are really friendly.Stayed at the Tigín in Wicklow for a gorgeous sunny weekend, and am already excited about going back in future.
